Scott Brills is a serial entrepreneur hailing from Detroit, Michigan in the United States. His career in the hospitality field started at the age of sixteen as a busboy, and since then he has occupied various positions, from waiter, bartender, and housekeeper—up to management—at a range of service industry organizations in both the U.S. and Japan before starting his entrepreneurial journey.

After spending most of 2001 in Japan on a work-study program, he started his first company in the I.T. and technology space, assisting businesses with their online presence and technology portfolio during the nascent years of the internet. After nearly a decade in the field, he transitioned to the travel and tourism sector in 2010, going on to found separate companies in the United States, Tanzania, Bhutan, and Japan during the following years.

During the past few years his focus has been on the growth of Eat Japan (a culinary tour operator based in the U.S. and Japan), and Pamoja Safaris (an adventure outfitter based in the U.S. and Tanzania). Both companies serve as tour operators in their respective markets, and deal with a wide range of hoteliers, restaurants, transportation providers, and government entities on a day-to-day basis.

Scott is fluent in Japanese, and is an ISS-certified sake advisor, as well as a TAC tea sommelier in training. He currently spends much of his time between the U.S. and Japan, visiting 10-20 countries a year on average during his travels.
